The NYHCS is delighted to announce Le Bal Masqué des Rêves, a Fancy Dress Ball to be held on Saturday, November 7th in New York City!
King Midas waltzes with a walrus, a harlequin twirls a champagne bottle, a Valkyrie shimmies with a sparkling orchid! Was it all just a dream? We hope this magical masquerade will inspire you recreate the wildest Victorian fashion plates ever printed, or a fantastical creation of your own design.
Our venue will be the New York Estonian House in midtown Manhattan, where guests will enjoy several floors of the historic Beaux Arts mansion for dancing, mingling, and even billiards! The bar on the ground level will be open throughout the night for drinks.
Each ticket includes one complimentary drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) and tasty h’ors d’oeuvres, dance lessons by Susan de Guardiola and live music in the ballroom, and access to photos following the event. Spooky season doesn’t have to end in October, and we look forward to an incredible evening of dancing and fun this November!
Ticket presale begins February 27th and general ticket sale begins April 1st. All tickets are nonrefundable.
Be sure to follow us for the latest updates and we hope to see you on November 7th in NYC.
Special thanks to Brittany Essig of @theredbirdstudio for the stunning poster.
F.A.Q.
What is the dress code?
Victorian dress from 1870-1900 is required. Please feel free to express yourself as you wish, and we encourage you to have fun with the theme!
While Victorian fancy dress catalogs provide many wonderful creative ideas, they can also show many examples of Victorian prejudices. We ask that you chose your costume with consideration - any outfits with elements of cultural appropriation, racism, or other outdated offensive ideas are strictly prohibited and will not be allowed entry into the ball.
